Q. Why did you want to update the TrueScience Activated Skin Care Collection?
A. We had 2 main thoughts as we approached reformulating the TrueScience system:
First, we wanted to look at everything that made the current system successful and what people loved about it. We wanted to keep those things, especially our patented Nrf2 ingredients that truly set our hydrating skin care products apart.
Second, we wanted to see what has changed in skin science and clean ingredient science that we could incorporate into the system, specifically looking at Activation since that’s the LifeVantage differentiator. We asked how we could bring enhanced Activation to this line.
So, we looked at it through that dual lens, which is kind of unique because normally you’re just approaching it fresh. We already had a great base that people loved. We just wanted to uplevel the Activation so people could experience more benefits in a shorter time period.

Q. If you only had time to tell someone 4 things about the TrueScience product line, what would you tell them?
A. 1: Activation in every step. Each product has a specific benefit that it’s targeting, so when you combine them all together you get this holistic approach to skin health and anti-aging.
2: You should know that all the ingredients included within the entire line comply with the LifeVantage Clean Commitment. You can understand exactly what is and isn’t in your products.
3: The entire line was designed for all skin types. Every ingredient was chosen with these different skin types in mind, so the benefits aren’t segmented to just one type of skin. Anyone can experience the benefits of the TrueScience Activated Skin Care without worrying about whether it’s compatible with their skin.
4: The last thing is the clear time to benefit with this collection. Q. Were there any benefits we wanted to give people that they weren’t getting with the original formulas?
A. Yes! The original TrueScience formulas provided so many wonderful benefits, which we don’t want to discount. LifeVantage recognized it was time to update the product line to fill in gaps, keep up with advances in skin science, and focus on Activation.
Each product is loaded with unique benefits that are enhanced when the entire collection is used together. And each product has something new that I wanted to touch on.
With TrueClean Refining Cleanser, you still get cleansing without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. The included prebiotic supports your skin barrier to balance the skin and maintain beneficial oils. We added exfoliation because it has such fantastic benefits: It gets rid of surface impurities and dead skin cells to leave your skin clean, soft, and smooth. TrueClean preps the skin to receive some fantastic Activation ingredients from the rest of the TrueScience line. And it helps remove dirt and debris, so it’s a necessary step to skin care.
For TrueLift Illuminating Eye Cream, we wanted to move to 360° benefits around the eye. We made sure to address everything from dark circles and under eye puffiness, to sagging eyelids on top, to crow’s feet on the side. TrueLift brings more of a holistic aging approach to the eye. It delivers hydration with a cooling sensation and a caffeine pop to make you look more awake.
TrueHydrate Brightening Moisturizer is so much more than hydrating skin care. We leaned into brightening, which can mean so many things. It helps visibly even the skin tone and reduces the appearance of age spots. It brings out your skin’s natural beauty and just smooths it all out. We wanted to really enhance the brightening power and make sure there was a tangible time period where people could expect to see benefits. A key ingredient in TrueHydrate delivered with brighter, smoother-looking skin in only 7 days!
That time to benefit was actually something we really wanted to address with each product in the line. When you use each product, you want to know clearly what benefit it’s targeting and how quickly you can expect to see results.
Lastly, with TrueRenew Daily Firming Complex, we knew we needed to create a “hero product” for the TrueScience Activated Skin Care Collection. Retinol and retinol alternatives are very popular. We wanted to address 11 visible signs of aging in a way that was clean, responsibly sourced, and specifically designed to complement the inside Activation power of the Healthy Glow Essentials Stack.
On their own, the 2 products in the stack—Liquid Collagen and Protandim® Nrf2 Synergizer®—have beautiful synergy on the inside. And TrueRenew adds to that Activation power to complement those benefits on the outside.
Q. LifeVantage has a big focus on Activation right now. What exactly does that mean for TrueScience?
A. So, Activation to me means partnering with your body’s natural systems that have either slowed or sped up due to age or the stress that we deal with every single day. It could be caused by environmental factors, the food we eat, emotional tolls, etc. All of these have an impact on our health, including our skin health. And we compound those negative effects when we use skin-care products that aren’t designed to complement the skin’s natural processes.

Q. What kind of Activation benefits do the TrueScience clean skin care products provide?
A. Well,something you can easily do with each one of the TrueScience products—and we did this very purposefully—is look right to the name and find the main benefit.
Let’s start at the beginning of the routine. TrueClean Refining Cleanser is the full name. We’re activating the 2 benefits of cleansing and exfoliation. Skin is left feeling clean, comfortable, and refined.
Then you move to TrueRenew® Daily Firming Complex. We’re activating being able to improve those 11 visible signs of aging, starting in just 3 weeks.
For the eyes, we have TrueLift Illuminating Eye Cream. We are illuminating the eye area and then visibly lifting the eyelid. So, you have that younger appearance as we address 7 visible signs of aging around the eye specifically.
And then, with TrueHydrate Brightening Moisturizer you find the hydrate, brighten, and moisturize benefits in the name. We’re activating hydration and brightness at the source. You can see visible results, specifically in brightening, starting in just 7 days.

Q. Are there any specific benefits to taking all the TrueScience products together?
A. Yes. Instead of someone just filling in the gaps in their current skin care routine, our unique approach of Activation looks to provide more than just short-term fixes. Q. Does the TrueScience line include sustainable ingredients?
A. Clean skin care is important to skin health, and sourcing of ingredients is a huge part of that. A lot of the key ingredients we added have strong sustainability data. They’re either from an upcycled source (would have been thrown away) or they’re created in a way that minimizes waste, water, and electricity. We looked at ethical sourcing, so they provide a positive impact on the communities they came from. We wanted to include ingredients that were both good for the skin and good for the environment.
Q. Have the TrueScience products won any awards or received any type of certification?
A. Yes, they have! Every clean skin care product in the new TrueScience Activated Skin Care Collection has been certified clean by Think Dirty, which is a third-party site that thoroughly reviews formulas, ingredients, and safety data. They assign a score from 0 to 10. Zero is awesome and means a product is very clean and safe. Ten means do not ever put this on your skin.
All the TrueScience products received either a 0 or a 1, which is as good as you can get! So, you can trust that what you’re putting on your skin is good for it.
Q. Can you talk about the sunstick that was introduced into the TrueScience line (US only)?
A. TrueProtect Daily Mineral Sunstick is our new SPF 30 broad-spectrum sun-protection product. It’s more than just a sunscreen. What I love even more than the sun protection from TrueProtect, is that it also addresses damage from the past. It significantly reduces the appearance of sun damage like age spots, dark spots, and wrinkles to give you a radiant, even, younger-looking complexion.*

TrueProtect includes a fantastic ginger root extract that provides anti-aging benefits and reduces the appearance of environmental damage, like hyperpigmentation, from free radicals and blue light.
Antioxidants like ginger root are important, because damage caused by things like prolonged exposure to sunlight, pollution, and other chemicals can all lead to things such as a lack of radiance, increased hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles. UV (ultraviolet) light has been shown to provide up to 90% of the visible signs of aging you see on the face.
We chose zinc oxide from a natural mineral to provide protection from the sun. Some skin protection filters can absorb the sun’s rays into the skin and others cause concern for coral reefs. Zinc oxide is a better option. When you’re on your way to the beach, it gives you the protection you need. One thing that’s always a concern when people hear zinc oxide is that it’s going to be incredibly whitening. They think of the lifeguard with the big white smear on their nose and think it’ll either look like that or leave their skin just sickly looking. Our formula doesn’t do that. It doesn’t have that white or purple cast. It’s sheer, so it leaves your skin looking fresh and natural as it protects. It’s appropriate for all skin tones, so everyone can experience the benefits of TrueProtect.
Q. Is there anything else you think people should know about the benefits of combining TrueScience with the Healthy Glow Essentials Stack?
A. Yes, so just to clarify a little bit with the combination of Healthy Glow and TrueScience, you can think about it as Protandim Nrf2 Synergizer being your ultimate inside Activation. If you can only take 1 of our activators on the inside, take Nrf2 Synergizer. It provides that foundation of helping your body’s natural antioxidant production that slows with age.
With TrueScience clean skin care, you provide that external skin health and skin beauty, where we’re activating all these benefits externally.

Q. We’ve talked a little bit about combining an inside and outside approach to Activation and why it’s beneficial to pair Healthy Glow with TrueScience clean skin care. Do you have any other product pairings that would create additional benefits when used with TrueScience?
A. If you’re addressing your health through our LifeVantage® Rise AM™ & Reset PM™ System that use that Timewise approach in the morning and evening, you’re providing a lot of essential micronutrients necessary for Activation. Those are fantastic to add in.
